The Delivery

Well what can I say we don't always know what life will bring us until it happens. I was feeling pretty decent after being put on bedrest but it was short lived. I was put on bedrest Tues and had a baby Wed. When we went in to be monitored on Wed night they tested my urine again and the protien was 5x the normal so they told us at midnight we weren't going anywhere and they were inducing me. We were in the triage room at this point and settling in for the night the medicine they gave me takes 12 hours to work so we tried to get sleep as the blood pressure machine was going off every 15 minutes and nurses watching the baby on the monitor at the nurses station. I think that was the hardest part just waiting for time to pass by. The hospital was busy and they didn't want to give us a bigger room incase more moms in labor came in. The room felt smaller by the hour and poor Tim had to sleep in this little chair all night. The next day after the 12 hour wait we found out that I had done nothing in the last 12 hours I hadn't dilated even to 1. At that point I was feeling worse and contractions had slowly started, Tim was feeling the affects of the unknown and felt like he had the flu. Claire was doing great she looked perfect on the monitor. The next step was a pretty easy the doctor called and said C-section now or wait 12 more hours which nothing would probably happen and I would end up with a C-section anyway. Of course we went with the C-section that night. It's funny that even though I work in surgery and see this stuff everyday I was still really nervous. Everyone was so wonderful it really worked out perfect. My family was able to come before we went in for the C-section so we could update them on everything. It was especially great because Tim could wear this great outfit and be in the delivery with me. He video taped the whole thing and could take pictures and even got the chance to cut the cord when she was out. It was such a cool experience. There is nothing like hearing the sound of your own baby cry.

Where has the time gone?

I haven't blogged in such a long time and so many wonderful things have happened. It seemed like just a few months ago we found out we were expecting and now it could be any day. We are so excited to welcome Claire into our family we have been working on her room and think we have the major parts finished.
It was kind of a shock when we picked the baby furniture up from the store and Tim stayed up to put it together to find out it was the wrong crib. It took another 6 weeks to get the right one in but we love it. I'm so glad it made it here before she did. Here are some other pictures of her room.
It has been so much fun picking out clothes, organizing and getting things ready. We have had the priviledge of seeing her everyother month at her ultrasounds. We didn't expect to get extra pictures but she has been taking her time gaining weight so the doctor has been keeping an eye on her. The last one we got on January 10 she was almost 6 pounds so I'm guessing 7lbs but you never know. Who would have thought Ben would have been such a big baby. As for me I thought I had been really lucky this whole time with minimal pregnancy symptoms but I think I'm beginning to understanding what people have been talking about. I have been getting bigger by the week and have had some swelling in my feet and hands the last few weeks. I had to put the wedding ring away a few weeks ago. It's crazy how big she feels and Tim has a fun time feeling her move. Here are a few picks of me at 24 weeks and 36 weeks. I think I have changed the most in my face. It seemed like it showed up out of the blue and has continued to change every week. I'm trying to be better at taking pictures especially after she is born. We feel so blessed for all the great things that have come our way this last year. We have had so much support with Claire on the way and we want to thank everyone who came to the baby showers and for my Mom and Hailey, Natalie and Debbie, and the girls at work for putting in the time to throw me wonderful showers. We are so excited to be parents.

The Baptism

Last Saturday was a very exciting day Tim was baptized. It was such a great and spiritual day for us. Especially Tim he actually stayed calm until right before then he started getting a little nervous. We had so many great friends and family there. The missionaries have been such a great blessing they knew exactly what Tim needed to be ready for baptism. This was the best day for our family. I always knew that Tim would someday except the gospel. He has been such a great blessing in my life. When we moved to Queen Creek and started going to a new ward it was an experience we could have together. He has always been such a great example to me. He is always the one that remembers fast Sunday and has done such a good job at his scouting calling. I am so grateful that he will be able to bless Claire when she is born. I am also grateful for my Dad that he was able to baptize Tim he has always been such a great Dad and friend. My family has always been supportive of the decisions that I have made in my life and always great examples. I want to thank everyone who has been an example in ourlives. The day was so wonderful and we are so happy and thankful for the friends and family who shared in this day with us. I am so glad Tim's family came to this important day in Tim's life.

This Saturday

This Saturday is a big day for Tim. He is getting baptized. This day has been a long time coming I was so excited when he made the decision. We have a really great group of missionaries that have helped make the process really great. The baptism is Saturday October 18 at the Bella Vista Stake Center at 5pm. We are going to have an Open House to follow at our house. Call for directions. We would love to have anyone who knows us join in this special time. We are so excited to have so many blessings in our lives. We hope you can share this with us.

Brighton

My Aunt Vickie and Uncle Gene planned for us to go to Brighton ski resort in Utah for a few days before we went home. It was really nice the cabin was huge so we had plenty of room to relax. The lake was right around the corner from the cabin so we went finishing and took walks around it was really nice.

Ben had a great time with my Mom and this canoe my uncle brought up. He thought it was so funny to throw blocks out of the boat at my Mom.

The boys all went fishing. Some how I ended up with a pole for awhile but I was just hoping I wouldn't catch anything. I'm not good with the whole killing animals or living things. Everyone was really patient but Danny and my Dad were the only ones to catch anything and my sister and I guilted them out of keeping them.

I think my Dad really wanted to have a fish dinner that night. My mom is a pro when it comes to fishing she was helping the guys keep there lines full.
Poor Tim didn't catch anything and the fish would steal his bait evry few minutes so I think they knew he really wanted one. Ben was a really great sport it was nice to have the cabin so close so we could take trips back for jackets and snacks.

Pretzel sticks were the best thing for the trip.
Gene and Vickie were the best hosts they brought us dinner every night and my cousin Tyler and his friend Mike came up after work to hang out. We miss living so close to them it was such a fun trip.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone was by far the best part. Hailey and I were here when we were younger but it has been about 20 years. It has changed a little but it was fun for the guys they had never been. Sometimes it surprises me how much Tim loves wildlife. On the way to Yellowstone there were so many places to pull over and see different areas. This was really cool it was a real pond with lilly pads growing. They were so thick in some spots you could bearly tell where the water was.

When we got to Yellowstone we had to see Old Faithful. She is of course still going strong but it is so amazing how nature creates wonders like this. There were so many interesting geysers, hot springs and mud pots. We only spent the day but we could have spent a week.

On our way back to the condo there were tons of water falls and places to pull off and enjoy nature. This water fall was so big you could hear it from the parking area. When we were there it was buffalo mating season and there were hundreds of buffalo on the side of the road. They crossed when ever so the cars creeped along until we got past them. I couldn't believe how huge they were. The boys were loving it they were sticking out the van doors taking video.
